Mileage – payable for life

If you are injured in an automobile accident, your insurance company is obligated to reimburse you for transportation expenses that are necessary for your medical care and rehabilitation. For instance, you will be reimbursed for mileage to and from your doctor’s appointments, physical therapy appointments, rehabilitation appointments, etc. If you sustained a serious injury wherein you cannot ride in a vehicle (i.e. doctor’s order of no bending at the hips), an ambulance may be required to take you to and from your doctor or rehabilitation visits. Your insurance company will be obligated to pay for those transportation expenses that are reasonable and necessary for your medical care and rehabilitation. You should keep a detailed record of mileage expenses.
